Once we receive your request our librarian will process your request and advise you the delivery date via SMS and website.
The items will be packed, sealed and delivered to your selected Bangla grocery shop.
When you collect your items please show your membership card to the shop attendant and sign the register. Same steps apply when you return your items. The items must be returned to the shop within the due date. You must call or email the librarian if you wish to renew the items.

Joining:
  • To join Australian Bengali Library Submit your membership form
  • Attach/pay $20 (refundable, see: form)
  • For delivery & pickup service please attach/pay $30 (optional)
  • Once you are issued with a membership card, the number must be produced to borrow any materials and when making a computer /telephone bookings
  • All materials borrowed on your membership card are your responsibility. Loss of card must be reported promptly to the Library
  • There is a charge of $2.00 for the replacement of lost, stolen or damaged cards
Borrowing:
  • Individual member will be able to borrow up to 30 items per annum. Conditions apply for any additional transaction
Limits:
  • Up to 2 (3+ conditions apply) items may be borrowed on each transaction
Loan periods:
  • Loan period 21 days
Returns:
  • Loans must be returned to the delivery/pickup point by the due date
Renewals:
  • Items may be renewed once only if the item is not reserved for another patron
  • Items may be renewed by telephone (02) 4621 2587 or online
Recalls:
  • The Library reserves the right to recall any item at any time
Overdue Fees:
  • Overdue items accumulate fines at the rate of $3.00. Please check the date your books are due back and return them on time
Copying:
  • Library materials must not be copied
Damaged or lost Items:
  • When an item is lost or not returned after a reasonable period of time, the client will be invoiced for: A replacement cost
  • When an item is returned in a damaged condition, the client will be invoiced for a replacement cost, or a repair/binding cost as determined by the Library
Suggestions for Purchase:
  • We welcome suggestions for purchase of materials that we do not have and reserve the right to decide whether the item is suitable for inclusion in our Library's collection
